STATEMENT: My work is primarily figurative in nature. Many of my landscapes were influenced by a trip to the Outback in Western Australia. I like the idea of using the figure in the landscape and the relationship of the figure to the landscape. In another sense it is about loneliness and the isolatory nature of human existence. Currently I am being drawn to the life-model after doing a short course at Chelsea Art College. I have found that my work started out with quite traditional approaches but I became more interested with the distortion of the figure to create a more emotive and erotic undertone. Consequently my work moved away from direct representation and the work, in a sense, grew of its own accord. My work is quite varied but colour and composition are strong elements in the final outcome. Painterly qualities are also an overriding aspect of my work. Most of the work shown is for sale and I can be contacted via the email address above or Tel: +44 (0)1708 552 596 323 Upminster Road North NB: As of 2nd May 2000, "Preston Market Steps" and "Jerusalem Market Scene" have been sold.
