Biography: Shabnam Anand
Brief Background

Born and brought up in the beautiful valley of Dehra Dun surrounded by picturesque hills of the Himalayan range in Northern India, Shabnam Anand graduated in Textile Design from New Delhi in 1978.

Soon after, she set up home in England, and took up a designing position in a studio in London.

Her natural flair for painting flowers soon won her recognition, and her designs sold all over Europe, USA, Japan and Australia. Her client list includes some famous names like Liberty of London, Marks and Spencer, Boots and Colorall, amongst others.

Along with designing, Shabnam exhibited her paintings in various art galleries in Hertfordshire, England. On returning to India in 1988, her interest leaned more towards painting freely in watercolour, and she was invited to exhibit her flower paintings in the Shrishti Art Gallery at the Sheraton, New Delhi. She held various exhibitions of her work until finally moving to Hong Kong in 1992 where she continued to paint and exhibit. Having lived in Hong Kong for a short period, Shabnam returned to Berkhamsted, England where she now resides, and continues to paint.
